Christy Yaden’s speciality is to provide beautiful interiors to homes with a strong architectural presence. For twenty-four years, Christy Yaden Interior Design has been serving the Seattle and Bellevue communities of the State of Washington with full-service interior design. They accept new construction, remodels, and furnishing projects.
At the beginning of a new project, Christy strives to understand exactly what her client wants to experience in their space. Her ultimate goal is to produce a design that reflects her client’s individual aesthetic while also respecting the architectural style of the home. When these two aspects are in cohesion, Christy knows that she’s done her job well. Clients often come to Christy for her signature classic, clean, and coastal aesthetic. For a yacht owner based in the greater Puget Sound region, this aesthetic was exactly what they desired.
The client wanted to update their yacht, but still loved the craft’s original color palette. To meet her client’s vision, Christy preserved the overall style while lightening the color tones and adding a splash of blue to provide the yacht with a fresh, clean feel. The existing sectional was reupholstered and custom pillows with colors befitting Christy’s new palette were added. In the bedrooms, fresh fabric was chosen for the headboards, and the paneling above was updated to coordinate seamlessly with the carpets. Christy also designed window coverings and custom coverlets and bedding to fit the curved beds perfectly.
When the yacht’s interior was finished and Christy took a step back to evaluate her work, she loved how fresh, clean, and updated every element now looked. The fresh style contributed brightness to the classic feel which the original wood tones of the yacht had previously established. Every updated item adapted exquisitely to the original design of the custom yacht, creating a soothing, timeless aesthetic not soon forgotten.
