Nagwa Seif began her professional career in interior design by working for a commercial design firm. The majority of their projects consisted of designing clubhouses and leasing offices for local apartment communities. While Nagwa excelled in her job, it didn’t take long for her to crave more creative freedom in her work. She also wanted a more personal connection to her projects, which inspired her to start her own company in 2007, Nagwa Seif Interior Design. Since the launch of her business, she has found creative fulfillment by helping clients build their dream homes.

Based in Orange County, CA, Nagwa Seif Interior Design provides full-service interior design services in a variety of design styles. Nagwa caters to the unique aesthetics of the different projects she takes on, but strives to maintain a thoughtful layering and degree of elegance in each. “Simply put, I want the best for my clients,” Nagwa says. “I always try to remember that first conversation I have with them, when they are excited and gushing about their hopes and dreams for their new home.” Oftentimes, as the project progresses, burdens like timelines, budgets, and potential compromises cause clients to stress and the excitement can fade. Nagwa holds her client’s original vision close to her heart and works hard to ensure the final result aligns with those initial expectations. Her guidance brings comfort to clients when they need it most.

High on a bluff in an exclusive community in Newport Coast, CA, sits a property once burdened by its dark and dated interiors. Nagwa Seif Interior Design—along with Talisse Construction as the general contractor—were hired to transform it into a beautiful home with a quiet color palette and clean elegance, an endeavor Nagwa took on by incorporating lots of light and airiness. Timeless marble mosaics were installed in the bathrooms and the kitchen. “We wanted beauty and detail while maintaining a visual softness that allowed for peace and serenity,” Nagwa said, “and I think we achieved that.”

In the kitchen, a charming two-tone La Cornue French range with an elongated custom hood introduced character and elegance while the hints of watery blues and greens in the backsplash, cabinetry, drapery, and furnishings created a soft, soothing atmosphere. “The colors were carefully selected to reflect the home’s natural coastal lighting, which transforms beautifully throughout the day,” Nagwa said. “This home’s design was quite the exercise in utilizing low contrast levels. The effect was incredibly powerful in creating the calm and tranquil environment we were after.” At the project’s completion, the home truly embodied its designated name: Coastal Serenity.
