Easy, fun, and exciting—those are the three words that Lori, owner and principal designer of Lori Henle Interiors, used to describe her firm’s approach to the interior design process. Her vision for her design business is to deliver beautifully curated homes that tell the story of the resident’s life, and with over twenty-four years of experience, Lori easily accomplishes this goal in every space she designs.
Working in Marin and Sonoma Counties of California, Lori is surrounded by an excellent crew of skilled craftsmen who assist her in bringing brilliant design plans to life. Her resoluteness to never cut corners and to personally address the smallest of details in every project allows her to provide clients spaces that deeply resonate with their design tastes and lifestyle. An excellent example of Lori’s artistry is the transformation of this once dark and outdated Mediterranean style home into a light and bright modern space.
Lori’s clients wanted to improve the layout of their home to better accommodate their relaxed family lifestyle, love for cooking, and desire to entertain. With these goals in mind, Lori devised a new open floor plan which transformed the kitchen and family room into a comfortable hub for entertaining family and friends. The custom wall hood over the kitchen’s range and the blue butcher block island—designed to showcase the client’s collection of French copper pots—honed the fresh, unique, and attractive atmosphere of the new space.
The living room is now a show of natural textures and diverse patterns, elements Lori chose for their ability to add contrast and exude modern style. Bright blue and white accent pillows introduce a coastal element while the abstract art above the mantel—framed in a wood finish and flanked by a pair of bronze wall sconces–adds a hint of whimsy.
Upstairs, Lori reimagined a dated office space into a happy and fun space for the client’s daughter and friends to craft and play. White and blue patterned wall paper created the perfect canvas to layer colorful art and accessories, and the refreshed cabinetry contributed with a playful splash of blue. At the completion of the renovation, Lori and the homeowners were in love with the home’s new Mediterranean modern style.
