Architecture, art, cultures, and nature—these are just a few areas where Cecilia Pacheco finds inspiration when crafting an interior design. Her full-service residential interior design firm serves Houston, TX, and the surrounding areas, but Cecilia is never opposed to accepting projects in other locations. Cecilia’s specialty is elegant design where she finds joy in surrounding her clients with everything they love so that they can feel at their best. Just as interesting as the interiors she creates is the story behind the start of Cecilia Pacheco Interior Design.
Cecilia’s first business followed her training in fine art: She designed mirrors, made custom frames, and sold art. While enjoying the work, her business came to an end when her husband was given a three-year overseas assignment. While seeming to be a sad state of facts on the surface, Cecilia says her experiences in different parts of the world has enriched her life tremendously. “Traveling and living abroad have opened my mind to appreciate and realize that every place is unique and there is a lot to learn, no matter the location. In every place I’ve lived, I always took the time to learn about the culture, art, dances, and food to connect better with people.” By moving her family several times, Cecilia learned how to craft comfortable spaces for her family no matter where they ended up living, even when that meant being involved in the design and construction process of building a custom home in Wilton, CT.
When back in the United States with her family, Cecilia knew it was time for another challenge. In 1997—now drawing from her business background and interior design training—she began Cecilia Pacheco Interior Design, and to this day she has loved devoting her time to her clients so that they can spend time on themselves or with their families. When we asked Cecilia to tell us a bit about her firm, she said, “Our goal is to help homeowners turn their challenges into innovative design solutions to create a sophisticated atmosphere where they feel joyful and at ease.”
Whether working on an old home, a new house, or strategizing how to connect a home’s indoors with its outdoors, Cecilia’s dedication and passion are threaded through it all. “My approach to design starts by analyzing the house’s location and story. I also listen to the family’s points of view carefully—their goals and their values—to incorporate principles that function well and are appropriate for them in every specific situation, including wellness, safety, comfort, and style, all in pursuit to create a beautiful, distinctive, and timeless atmosphere that works best for the family.”
For her next challenge, Cecilia said she’d like to complete a yacht’s interior design. With her past track record of completed luxury designs, we have no doubt that Cecilia Pacheco Interior Design could accomplish a project like that beautifully.
