Since 1997 Orange County, and especially the coastal communities of Laguna Beach and Newport Beach, have experienced the magic of Benedict August’s impeccable modern and transitional interior designs. This full-service design firm is run by Erin and Dan Benedict, experts of their crafts in interior design and project management. “Over the last 25 years," Erin told us, "we have successfully delivered many projects including retail stores, boutique hotels, restaurants, golf clubhouses, and custom residences.”
The visionary behind this design firm is Erin. “Growing up with a mom who was an interior designer gave me a solid foundation on which to build my business,” Erin shared. “Having graduated with degrees in business and accounting, it became clear that design was the direction I needed to pursue.” Her choice in careers has certainly paid off, and the work Benedict August has completed is astounding!
For this Anaheim Hills project, the clients wanted to renovate the house which they’d been using as a rental. The project would entail a better floor plan and an updated aesthetic. With the intent to use the space for family gatherings and entertaining, Benedict August created a large, open floor plan for their clients. The homeowner’s loved the new layout and enjoyed being able to appreciate the outdoor views from both the kitchen and dining room spaces.
Another request made by the clients was for a soft color palette that would promote casual living. Benedict August explained the strategy they used to us: “We accomplished this by layering soft whites, creams, and warm wood tones, and then by adding contrasts of soft black throughout the home.” Their team also reinvented the existing wall unit on the fireplace wall, creating an eye-catching display which the homeowners loved.
When we asked Erin what Benedict August strives to achieve for all their clients, she said, “It is important to listen to the needs and wants of our clients to deliver thoughtful interiors and living spaces that support and enhance their lifestyles.” In this home renovation, it’s clear that Benedict August fulfilled their intent to deliver a space truly befitting their clients, and did so with great finesse.
