A generous donor anonymously covered the cost for writing and recording the latest solo piano single called “Seaview.” It was written in Laguna Beach and recorded in Newport Beach during the month of February 2013.

Dark Blue

After 7 months of writing, planning, recording, and mastering, “Dark Blue” was finally released today. It is the second full-length album by Justin Page Wood, featuring 10 original songs of pure piano and vocal music.

Dark Blue, Progress

Today was the last day of recording at JEL Studios in Newport Beach, finishing up 2 hours of vocal tracks for the last 4 songs. Over the next 2 weeks, JEL Studios will be mastering all of the songs in time for a mid-December release. There will be 10 original songs on the album, and all music is simply piano and vocals.

Tell Me Where

“Tell Me Where” is the latest piano & vocal single by Justin Page Wood, and will be the third track from the upcoming album, “Dark Blue.” It was originally written in 2010, on the guitar, and was re-composed for the piano. Recorded in just 2 hours of studio time on a Yamaha C7 grand piano at JEL Recording Studios in Newport Beach, California.

Kickstarter

I’m gearing up for my next album, and just launched a new Kickstarter project to raise funds and give our rewards to those who help contribute. Kickstarter is a fundraising platform, where you can pledge to contribute any amount, and the more you contribute, the more unique rewards you can get. My favorite is the $50 pledge, which gets you an exclusive solo piano song that only 42 people will receive! But if I don’t raise 100% of my goal, I don’t get anything. Waves of the Ocean

In preparation for my upcoming album, I’m released the fist single from “Dark Blue” called Waves of the Ocean. It’s a song I wrote when I was about 18 years old. And because of it’s simple melody, and fairly memorable and being easy to sing, it was chosen as the first song to record.

ANOTHER ALBUM

I just can’t help but composed, record and produce more music. I’ve already started planning my second album, but this time it’ll be both piano and vocals, and will feature about 10 original songs. Writing an album takes years of planning and practice, but I hope to complete this new project by early December 2012, just in time for the holidays. To me, the piano reminds me of the winter, and it helps me get through the colder part of the year. For my first album, Grey, it took me over 5 months of intense planning and recording to complete, not to mention the years and years of composing music since I was in high school. But since I’ve gain a lot more insight since the last album, I’m hoping this next one will be much easier to plan and execute. You can listen to some of my music at justinpagewood.com/music.

If You Weren’t Around

After finally finishing my first solo piano album, I’m already excited to make my next project, which will most likely be a piano and vocal album. I’m getting an early start by practicing vocals and piano together. I haven’t been singing as much as I usually do, so my voice is a little rusty. But here’s a practice of the vocal version called If You Weren’t Around, which is a song from my solo piano album Grey.
